For the first time in its 17-year history, the Singapore Archifest is dispersing its exhibitions, installations and programmes across an entire precinct instead of convening in a centralised venue. Festival director Calvin Chua is an adjunct assistant professor at SUTD.

Dr Mohan Rajesh Elara is an associate professor at SUTD. He has been studying the construction of intelligent cleaning robots. When he approached the entrepreneurial husband-and-wife team, he found that they had a like-minded vision for building cleaning robots locally.

Called Ami, the app is a simple and interactive touch-screen game suitable for the elderly. It currently offers three games and supports six different languages including dialects, which are Chinese, English, and Malay, Tamil, Hokkien and Cantonese.

The project teaches students about the importance of form and function in product design. The students created models and sourced for materials before putting the vehicle together.
