Derrick Wong is the Head of Real Estate & Workplace, JAPAC at OpenAI, where he leads workplace strategy, operations, transformation, and innovation across the region. With a career spanning earlier leadership roles at Google, Twitter (now X), and LinkedIn, Derrick brings deep experience at the intersection of technology, business, and people.

Throughout his career, Derrick has been at the forefront of emerging technologies and workplace evolution, applying the latest trends—including artificial intelligence—to reimagine operations and elevate organisational impact.

Notably, Derrick has served as Global Head Workplace at LinkedIn for five months and as Head of EMEA at Twitter while concurrently leading the APAC portfolio—an uncommon achievement held by an APAC-based leader.

Derrick holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
