ESD’s Assistant Professor Georgios Piliouras and Research Fellow Stefanos Leonardos won the best paper award for their paper “Oceanic Games: Centralization Risks and Incentives in Blockchain Mining” (joint work with Nikos Leonardos from the University of Athens). Stefanos Leonardos received the award at the International Conference on Mathematical Research for Blockchain Economy (MARBLE) in May 2019.
