Cheng Hong Siang Tng (笲精囡斻) was founded in an old village at Tai Seng Avenue in 1974 by a few public-spirited residents who started a service to provide help to the needy and became member of Blue Cross Charitable Institution in 1977.
As devotees of Patron Saint Master Song Da Fong, a committee was formed to carry out its activities and services as according to the teaching of our Patron Saint. This was the beginning of Cheng Hong Siang Tng. The services were basic and appropriate during those days. Cheng Hong Siang Tng was providing help to the poor, free medical cares, conduct funeral services and occasionally provide free burial services to the needy.
In 2000, Cheng Hong Siang Tng joined the South West Community Development Council (CDC), PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Yuhua, and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society jointly setup Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre. Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre runs a number of services and programmes to benefit the elderly and needy residents in the South West CDC district namely, Meals Delivery Service, Medical Escort, Home Help Service, Counselling Service, Family Life Education and other community services. |
