Samir Arora – SUTD Bursary
The Samir Arora – SUTD Bursary is established to provide financial assistance to deserving undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
- Any nationality
- Full-time undergraduate students in any year of study
- Demonstrated financial need with monthly household Per Capita Income of S$2,500 and below, or the prevailing upper limit for monthly household Per Capita Income as specified by the Ministry of Education for the eligibility criteria for the Higher Education Bursary
- Good academic standing
- Active in Fifth Row and community service involvement will be advantageous
Benefits of award
- The award is valued at S$6,500 per academic year and shall be applied towards the payment of tuition fees and study-related expenses.
- The award is tenable for 1 academic year.
- There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Terms & conditions
- The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
- The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.

Samir Arora is the Founder of Singapore-based, Helios Capital Management.
Samir received his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi in 1983 and his MBA (gold medallist) from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 1985. He also received a Master’s degree in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and was a recipient of the Dean’s scholarship for distinguished merit while at Wharton.
Samir’s philanthropic interests are in the areas of helping the cause of children, seniors and differently abled. He is also one of the founders of Ashoka University, India. |
