AMP-LBKM – SUTD Scholarship

Supported by the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) and the Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud (LBKM), this Scholarship is available to outstanding Malay-Muslim undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
  • Full-time Malay/Muslim undergraduates of the University who are Singapore Citizens
  • Enrolled in any year of study in the undergraduate course at the University
  • Possess a minimum CGPA of 3.5
  • Demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and social consciousness

Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated financial need, where Per Capita Income is at S$2,500 per month or less, or at the prevailing upper limit for monthly household Per Capita Income as specified by the Ministry of Education for the eligibility criteria for the Higher Education Bursary.

 

Community involvement will be an added advantage.

Benefits of award
  • The Scholarship is valued at S$15,000 per academic year and shall be applied towards the payment of tuition fees and study-related expenses.
  • Recipients may reapply to be considered for the Scholarship in their subsequent year of study, subject to fulfilling the prevailing criteria of the Scholarship.
  • There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Terms & conditions
  1. The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants. The only exception to this rule is that the recipient shall be allowed to hold the Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS) provided by Yayasan Mendaki.
  2. If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
  3. The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of SUTD, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
  4. The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.
  5. Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
Application procedure
  1. Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
  2. Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
  3. Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
  4. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
  5. SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.

The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) was established on 10 October 1991, as an important resolution of the First National Convention of Singapore Malay/Muslim Professionals which was held on 6 & 7 October 1990. AMP was formed with core programmes in education, human resource development, social development and research.

LBKM was formed in 1965 with the concerted determination and commitment of the leaders of about 70 Malay/Muslim organizations who felt the need to have an organisation that can cater to the financial needs of the needy students.
