UOL Group – SUTD Scholarship
The UOL Group – SUTD Scholarship is established to enrich the educational journey of students who are passionate about environmental sustainability.
Eligibility
- Singaporean Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Full-time first-year undergraduate enrolled in any degree programme at the University
- Has demonstrated passion in the area of sustainability
- Has good academic standing
- Possesses leadership potential, good moral character, and community spirit
Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated financial need, where Per Capita Income is at S$2,500 per month or less, or at the prevailing upper limit for monthly household per capita income as specified by the Ministry of Education for the eligibility criteria for the Higher Education Bursary.
Benefits of award
- The Scholarship is valued at up to S$70,000 and is tenable for up to 4 academic years, subject to the recipients continuing to meet the Scholarship criteria each academic year.
- Up to S$60,000 shall be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees, and up to S$10,000 shall be applied towards expenses incurred for the recipient’s sustainability trip and research project at the University. The latter sum shall form the Sustainability Travel & Research Grant (“the Grant”), which will be disbursed on approval of the recipient’s application to SUTD Sustainability Office for his/her sustainability themed overseas trip and post-trip project. The Grant will be governed by the Policy on SUTD Sustainability Travel & Research Grant Utilisation.
- There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Terms & conditions
- The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
- If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
- The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of SUTD, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
- The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.
Application procedure
- Interested incoming students should apply for the Scholarship when applying for admission to SUTD.
- Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
- Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
- SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
