Demand for AI training in Singapore has surged, with some courses seeing enrollments multiply several times. This growth is driven by industry adoption of AI and government initiatives, including new AI development missions announced by Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong.
Training providers such as Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Academy, NTUC LearningHub, and Vertical Institute have expanded AI-related courses.
SUTD alone offered over 125 AI courses between April 2025 and January 2026, with nearly 3,700 participants, including 36 executive workshops attracting over 800 attendees¡ªfour times more than the previous year.
SUTD Chief Communications Officer Ms Tammy Tan said the SUTD Academy will launch more AI-related courses, including a trainer programme to help companies implement AI transformations quickly, as well as stackable programmes and graduate courses.
SUTD Chief Strategy and Design AI Officer Mr Poon King Wang highlighted that providing six months of free access to paid AI tools for course enrollees will allow learners to immediately apply AI skills in the workplace and demonstrate the tools¡¯ value to employers.
The government is also expanding co-working AI spaces through the Lorong AI initiative, with a second location opening in February 2026 at the Yishun Industrial Estate inside the Paya Lebar Tech Hub.
