The supercharged Design and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) undergraduate degree programme is aimed at attracting high-calibre students with strong interests in social science domains such as economics, business, finance, psychology, philosophy, and human-AI interaction, alongside proficiency in Mathematics and the Sciences.

Bringing together individuals, families, students and creators of all ages to reimagine what technology could be when play and imagination were placed at the heart of design—the Festival showcased how Design AI can spark joy, curiosity and meaningful human connection.

Effective AY2026, AI will be systematically woven into the first year curriculum. Students will learn to integrate AI techniques into each stage of the design process, including user research, site and context analysis, synthesis, ideation, concept development as well as prototyping.

Professor Phoon Kok Kwang, SUTD President, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS). This marks the first time Singapore has a seat on the CAETS Board since joining the global council in 2023. His term will commence on 1 January 2026.

The Honorary Doctor of Engineering degree is SUTD’s highest form of recognition for outstanding individuals. It was conferred in recognition of the groundbreaking contributions Sir James Dyson has made to design and engineering, as well as his lifelong commitment to nurturing innovation and talent worldwide.

AMI Intelli is a game app powered by AI that combines games and chatbot conversations to enhance the cognitive and emotional well-being of seniors. It builds on SUTD’s original Advancing Mental Invigoration (AMI) platform, launched in 2023 as a bilingual dementia-prevention game for seniors.

The pilot programme combines SUTD’s expertise in Design AI—a bold fusion of AI and Design, creativity, ethics, empathy, critical thinking, and human insight—to address career needs of individuals.

By providing students with hands-on access to advanced automotive technology through the IONIQ 5 and various donated components, HMGICS aims to cultivate the country’s next generation of engineering and design talent, equipping future innovators with practical skills in sustainable mobility.

SUTD has welcomed 16 distinguished C-Suite leaders across aviation, healthcare, construction, media, technology, and finance to advance its Design AI vision through the Distinguished Professorial Fellow (DPF) and C-Suites-in-Residence (CiR) programmes.

The initiative aims to benefit up to 300 enterprises and 1,500 professionals by June 2026.
